My Future Job

Topic: My Future Job

For my future job, I would truly love to be a movie poster designer, which sadly is an indoor activity most of the time. But, since movies, cartoons and TV shows are some of the things that I enjoy the most, I imagine that being a poster designer would be absolute fun for me anyway...
In general, jobs in movie poster design focus on helping to advertise and promote a film in on a large scale. Lots of films have different posters, each of which uses graphic design techniques to highlight one or more aspects of the movie, its cast, and, of course, its story. In this role, you may use graphic design software to create these posters, test movie posters with sample audiences, coordinate with other advertisers, and otherwise work to communicate information about the film as clearly as possible. This job requires a significant understanding of movie poster psychology, such as framing and placing elements to suggest plot details or overall themes.

I would love to have the chance to travel a lot in that kind of job. But sadly, I think people who work in this area of design don't really have that chance. This is because the process of designing a movie poster begins several months in advance of a movie's release, and because, therefore, the designer has to constantly go to and from the studios.
And about the salary, I recently heard that the majority of salaries within the Movie Poster Design jobs category currently range between $32,822 to $63,528 with top earners, making $102,174 annually in Los Angeles, which I think it is an exhuberant amount of money.

Since I want to be part of the movie poster design community, I'm thinking that I can take a few subjects and majors about photography edition, theory of color and even psychology as a basis.
This since as I mentioned before, you need to know how to edit a photograph, know the appropriate color harmony according to the film, and also to have an understanding of movie poster psychology, which will help you to place the elements to suggest plot details and other stuff.
